Chapter Picnic, August 15, 2010
The Chapter Picnic at the home of Nancy and Harold Greer brought people from several other chapters to share good food and friendship. Following the picnic we had a plant auction and a cutting exchange.

June 27, 2010 - Chapter Picnic
The annual June picnic was held at the lovely Fall Creek home and garden of Jack and Sandie Olson. Jack took us on a tour of his garden talking about the hybridization he has done, his favorite rhododendrons, and the many plants of Nolan Blansit's hybridization work that he has brought to grow on in the garden. After the garden tour we enjoyed a potluck meal and time for camaraderie as well as a plant exchange in which we could take home a new treasure for our own gardens. During the afternoon, President Helen Baxter awarded Rudy Fecteau the ARS Bronze Medal for his excellent work as chapter webmaster. Rudy created the original chapter website in 2002 when it was not as easy as today and has maintained it since. many thanks to Rudy.

April 19, 2010, Chapter Field Trip
On Monday, April 19, several members carpooled northward to visit the Berry Botanic Garden and The Bovees Nursery in Portland and the Cecil & Molly Smith Garden near Newberg - a great day of camaraderie. All three gardens have outstanding displays of mature and unusual rhododendrons.

June 2009 Explore the garden of Dr. Phetteplace
Dr. Phetteplace was an active ARS member in the 1950's and 1960's with a garden along the McKenzie River. Many of his rhododendrons have grown on with little care since.
